THE TOP OF THE TOP

So Damn Damn Damn! its been a crazy year! and its been an even longer time since i gave ya'll some love on this blog, but i promise I'm back in the game, but i wanted to give you guys and dolls my opinion and suggestions for my top 5 albums of 2012. this year it is urban as hell, lol, very R&B and Hip Hop heavy, so you better love some flava!!!!!!! so lets get down to buisness.

Big Boi: Vicious Lies And Dangerous Rumors. This album blew my mind, and although its not flawless, its near perfect in my eyes. it flows good with the exception of two songs, but its worth ur buck, or bucks ;) it features some of my favorite artist like KID CUDI, Little Dragon, and the highly underrated  Kelly Rowland (Destiny's Child).

HOT TRACKS FROM THIS TITLE
She Hates
CPU
Apple Of My Eye
Mama Told Me

RIHANNA: Unapologetic, NOW i am a DIE HARD marine from the rihanna navy, i think she can do no wrong, BUT les be annas! TTT (talk that talk) was a weak ass album, and though i like a buttload of songs off that album, i know when to say, man riri you need to up ur game, and i think this bitch knew and she brought it with this album. it flows from one end to the end starting off with a sick David G. track "Phresh Off The Runway" and ending with a coldplayesque bow out "Half Of Me" if you are not even a fan of Rihanna, you will find something off this album. she went less sexual and more fun on this return and I'm in love.

Hot Tracks From This Title
Phresh Off The Runway
Numb
Pour It Up
Jump
Stay
Get It Over With

Frank Ocean: Channel Orange, If I Had To Pick The Top album of the year, it would be this, channel orange has thought, and heartbreak, and i have been through it this year, i connect with it, not so much the songs about crack rock, but the songs about unrequited love lol. from the intro to the outro this album delivers, if you like soul and story telling, this songwriter is a genius.

Hot Tracks From This Title
LOST
PYRAMIDS
BAD RELIGION
SUPER RICH KIDS
CRACK ROCK

BRANDY: TWO ELEVEN, Brandy had been out of the game for a minute, but damn did she comeback with this album, its a mix of new and old "B Rocka" she worked with Mike Will Made it, Frank Ocean, and Chris Brown, on this album and it all came together perfectly in my eyes, i enjoyed this album a lot this year and i am so happy to have this woman back in my ipod.

A Glimpse At Blue Ivy Life

What do you buy for the baby whose parents have everything?
If you are Blue Ivy Carter, a.k.a. the newborn daughter of a superstar rapper and singer, not only are you liable to receive cool gifts, but they are probably going to come from some pretty high profile folks.
While her dad, Jay-Z, has already composed a song for (and featuring) her, the newborn also reportedly received some presents from some of her parents' celebrity friends. Auntie O (that's Oprah Winfrey for those not in the know) supposedly purchased a trunk full of children's books, according to The Insider. Given her love of the written word – what with her book club and offering Jay-Z's book "Decoded" as one of her "favorite things" – it's no surprise.
Meanwhile, mommy's former group mate and BFF Kelly Rowland is said to have gone a more fashionable route.
According to People magazine, Rowland stopped by an upscale boutique to snag a onesie featuring a drawing of Bob Marley for B.I.C.
The green, long-sleeved onesie was reportedly purchased from an upscale New York City kids boutique, Lucky Wang. Entertainment Weekly also reported that the former Destiny's Child member has gifted the couple a $5,200 Swarovski crystal baby bathtub for the little darling.
The new parents reportedly took their bundle of joy home early Tuesday morning

Beyonce's Producer Knocks Kelly Rowland Success

So Jeff Bhasker isn’t a father to all of destiny's children, because if he was, he would not pick a favorite child. The “Party” producer (who worked on a number of other 4 tracks, too) took to Twitter to trash Kelly Rowland’s slinky single “Motivation”: How can this kr song with the weakest beat and melody of all time be the #1 song on the urban charts? Oh yeah. Wayne. (Guess he’s not a Weezy fan either.) But why such harsh words for “Motivation”? Find out more below.

There are a lot of songs out there that probably deserve his criticism even more, so what’s his beef with “Motivation”?Maybe he’s just trying to Bey a leg up, since so many of us are keeping an eye on how the two ladies’ singles and albums are measuring up against each other. my opinion is i think its a great summer song, and i LOVE "4" but kinda hoped it was a bit more upbeat. but its still fantastic. but back to the heart, i think Jeff feels threatened, he sounds like an unprofessional producer to me, because to say those types of things brings controversy and he knows it.
Bhasker followed up with this tweet:“I just listened to Motivation again to see if I was to harsh in my critique. I wasn’t. The lyrics are horrid as well.”(C’mon, Jeff, tell us how you really feel.) hey Jeff! why don't you shut up and let album sales be album sales, its BEYONCE vs KELLY WHO? cmon now, no need lol really.

MORE "B"

Just ahead of tomorrow's release of her album "4," Beyonce made global headlines this weekend after nailing her debut headlining gig at the Glastonbury Festival.
The reviews couldn’t be more congratulatory, undoubtedly a nice change of pace for the 29-year-old, who’s weathered lukewarm response to her single “Run the World (Girls.)

The Guardian commended the pop superstar for kicking the show off with a bang and never letting the excitement slip. Harper’s Bazaar added that she lived up to her reputation, with Rolli
ng Stone calling it a “bold, crowd-pleasing spectacle" and Billboard viewing it as "career-defining."
She launched into the 90-minute set with “Crazy in Love” and then worked her way through a number of hits, including “Single Ladies” and “Telephone” in addition to covers of Kings of Leon’s "sex on fire"and Alanis Morissette’s “You Oughta Know."

When all was said and done, George Michael acknowledged the singer’s efforts, tweeting, “Just watching Beyonce's performance at Glastonbury. I love that woman. Great artist, writer, singer, person ... Something so generous about the fact that she covered songs that acknowledged Glastonbury's typical audience. Very few American artists ... would take the time or have the respect for a foreign audience to do that. She just gets better and better."
Beyonce herself was taken aback by the moment, telling her audience, “I wanted you all to know, right now you are witnessing my dream. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for having me and my band here.
“I always wanted to be a rock star,” she continued, “and tonight we are all rock stars … I still can’t believe I’m performing at Glastonbury.”

BEYONCE: 4

So Lets get right to bizzness and "Listen" to the woman that runs the world, and her new album, no i know this album has gotten not that amazing early reviews, and there was even a rumor that it was gonna be postponed, and Jay-Z was gonna re-format the whole thing, but i have the album in hand, and I'm about to give you my opinion. so first track up is 1+1 nice guitar playing, nice and mellow, with an old school drawl. I'm a fan of this track more than when i heard the leaked version. its a powerful love song. and lets face it, Beyonce sings some good ballads. i dig it. Next up is "I Miss You" It has a funky electonica beat to start, something you would never expect from her, and then drums start, the lyrics are great on this one. "I told you how you hurt me, but you don't care, now im crying and deserted, but you don't care! ain't nobody tell me this is love, but your immune to all my pain!" the chorus is the weakest part of the song, which is interesting to me. something is missing for me at first listen, but I'm sure this song will sing to me when I'm more angry or remembering a bad break-up. "I Miss You" is the next interesting sound, very different direction than i expected. I'm glad its different, cause i never thought it would sound like this from hearing "RUN THE WORLD" the beat on this one is simple, very garage band esque. "BEST THING I NEVER HAD" This song is very back to the roots of "B" its as if "Irreplaceable" & "Take A Bow" had a musical child. i like it, it works, "PARTY" (featuring Andre 3000 & Kanye West) this song is very retro, i think its a Boyz ll Men sample, i could be wrong. its a great throwback 90s song. i dig it. a little boring. "Rather Die Young" interesting beat and song structure, so far for a "Beyonce" album, it hasn't hooked me the way i had thought, but I'm appreciating the artistic expression. "Start Over" is the "my relationship is falling apart" song i like it a lot, again very different for her. "Love On Top" is cute and funky again she went back to the future on this one totally 80s r&b lol so fun. it takes an while to see what she was doing with this album. "COUNTDOWN" THIS IS MY JAM, DEFINITELY THE DREAM TOUCHED THIS ONE. ITS MY FAVORITE ON THE ALBUM, DAMN THE BEAT IS BOMB! "End Of Time" very weird drumbeat and intro, with some chant, 90s funky bass, this is a very weird departure from the first part of the album, I'm afraid this is gonna be the "b" album of her career. i do like the rap runs in this song though. they are fast and fun. this song will grow on me. "I Was Here" sounds like a Clint Eastwood soundtrack, its another ballad its pretty yadda yadda yadda, I'm kind of over the album now. and next is "RUN THE WORLD (GIRLS) my drunk song of the year, i hate it as a song for a car or radio, but in the club druuuunk! its the best thing that can happen to you.

So i would give the album a shot but only is you can borrow it from some crazy die-hard fan that was dumb enough to buy it, and thats about it

BEYONCE: THE BILLBOARD WOMAN OF THE YEAR

The most memorable moment of Sunday night's Billboard Music Awards -- one of the most striking moments of any awards show this century, really -- came when Beyoncé took the stage to perform her4 single "Run the World (Girls)." Standing before a simple white screen that displayed an eye-popping array of projections, Beyoncé interacted with globes, dancers, and even an army of synchronized Beyoncé clones that weren't really there. The expertly executed performance was more awe-inspiring and innovative that anything on the Grammys or MTV VMAs, and definitely trumped any acrobatic stage show Katy, Rihanna, Britney, or even Gaga have fashioned in recent memory.
For new media artist and film director Kenzo Digital, the performance was the culmination of a month of near-sleepless nights. While his colleagues at advertising company Wieden-Kennedy went home at night, he attended intense meetings with Beyoncé and put in grueling hours on the computer concocting the performance's incredible graphics. "I literally haven't slept in five days," Digital tells The Amp, fresh off a plane back from the Awards in Las Vegas. "It's been a very hands-on, intense process."
Kenzo's work has been featured everywhere from the Tribeca Film Festival to the Guggenheim and MOMA. He studied under "the father of video art" Nam June Paik and his latest film, City of God's Son, is an experimental hip-hop opera that was lauded by Kanye West. Beyoncé's team approached Digital about a collaboration, and after meeting, "She really liked where my head was at," Digital says. "They had this idea to do something interactive and projection-based, so I concepted it with Beyoncé. We worked intensely with her choreographer Frank Gatson, who was also super incredible. Together, we fleshed out how the video would interact with the choreography and went back and forth several times on the look and style. My whole thing was to create this futuristic origami jungle world with elephants and lions."
In just one month, Kenzo, Beyoncé, creative studio Breathe (the geniuses behind the graphics at Roger Waters' amazing The Wall live shows), and animation team Dirt Empire conceptualized and executed the "Girls" performance. "Beyoncé has such an incredible work ethic and vision, and you really couldn't ask for a better collaborator in terms of the performing side of things as well. She killed it," Digital says. "When I saw that thing come out live, I was absolutely and completely blown away. As many times as she had rehearsed, as many times as she mocked it up just in the video room to get a reference of where we're at with the animation, to see that come together with her and her 100 percent energy and all the pyro effects, it was insane."
Perhaps most impressive, Beyoncé did the entire performance without the help of a reference screen, like the ones a weatherman uses to pinpoint where it's raining. "She is an absolute monster, she nailed all of her walks -- she just knows it," Kenzo says. "Her muscle memory, her performance, she doesn't need guides. She just needs to practice it a couple times and it's done. There was no visual guide. Her eye line was straight into the crowd, engaging the crowd. That's just her amazing abilities as a performer."
Kenzo admits that Beyoncé's team was initially inspired by a similar performance by Italian singer Lorella Cuccarini. "[The Cuccarini artists] are awesome and do incredible work as well, but there are a lot of different inspirations for where our piece came from," he said. "That's the thing, it's very simplistic. If anything, it's a great example of how great of a performer Beyoncé is. It's just a bare white screen. It's a technique in video art since the '80s in terms of frontal projection and interactive things. That's really nothing new. It's not even a new technology. It's just an incredibly simple, awesome storytelling device, and with a performer like Beyoncé it becomes incredibly powerful."
Kenzo hopes the "Girls" performance lives on as a centerpiece for Beyoncé's inevitable tour in support of 4. "It would be awesome if it would be," he says, "but I don't know what's in store exactly." Digital's phone has been ringing constantly since Beyoncé's world-stopping performance -- "I literally have 50 new messages on my answering machine and so many emails" -- so expect some more revolutionary performances in the near-future.

Katy Perry: Teenage Dream is NOT a nightmare!

So I had The pleasure of listening all week to Teenage Day Dream, and even making my close friends listen to it as well. Now i have to say I'm not into waking up in Vegas, and I'm not too into kissing girls anymore, so her first album was not that amazing to me. it was catchy, it was cute, a little sexy, but nothing really grasped me the first time around. But TEENAGE DREAM the sophomore album from Santa Barbara's Sweetheart Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson AKA Katy Perry is actually a pleasant mix of sounds and lyrics. its not deep or profound, but its definitely a new direction i feel. The First track, TEENAGE DREAM is kind of a dirtier version of a Taylor Swift song. :You think I'm pretty, without any make-up on" I'm sure that's what every "teenage" girl wishes her man would be. i didn't like this track when i heard it as a solo track on the radio, but as the intro to this album, it kicks off the journey of this 12 track album surprisingly well. the second track, (probably my favorite) LAST FRIDAY NIGHT [T.G.I.F.] has a great start with lyrics like "I smell like a minibar" and "this a hickey or a bruise?" it makes this track about passing out at a crazy party the perfect female HANGOVER anthem. it even has a sexy-cool saxophone solo for ya at the end. CALIFORNIA GURLS feat SNOOP DOG is a pretty catchy tune, and I'm not gonna talk about it because you all have heard it. BUT Representatives for the Beach Boys are threatening to sue Perry for including the classic line "I wish they all could be California girls" in her tune. The line is lifted from the Boys' 1965 rock classic "California Girls," and the paper reported that publishing reps at the Boys' Rondor Music have sent a letter to Perry's label demanding that the original song's writers, Mike Love and Brian Wilson, be given a writing credit on "Gurls" as well as a share of royalties. i think that's kinda lame, but oh well, i guess when ur all washed up, you will go after all you can get. FIREWORK is the 4th track on the album, and i dig this one alot, its very Kelly Clarkson-ish it has that "since you've been gone" guitar riff and jump-up-and-down potential. PEACOCK track 5 is, im calling it now for future bragging rights, the new gay anthem, i can already see DJ's in WEHO fading out the PEA in a remix to leave the remaining left to repeat in our ears continuously. its a fun dirty little track, not sure it will get much airplay on the radio, but the clubs are sure to blast it for a dead crowd boost. CIRCLE THE DRAIN is the next track, and this is a great song about someone in a relationship with a broken person on drugs and being fed up with bullshit, it's Katy's Alanis song. "wanna be ur lover, not ur fuckin mother" i like this one alot, great electronic synths in this one. THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY is a reminiscent look on a relationship that is no longer, boo hoo not a huge fan of this one it kinda bombs here, but then quickly recovered by E.T. no, not the beer drinking Reese's pieces eating extra terrestrial, or is it? this is the song she seems to be either singing to someone that is so awesome they are out of this world, or she is singing to a freaky alien from m. night shyamalan's movie 'signs". "your touch, magnetizing, feel like i am floating, leaves my body glowing" WHAT I AM LIVING FOR & PEARL are great tracks as well. HUMMINGBIRD HEARTBEAT is a little reprise to TEENAGE DREAM in my opinion, its a continuation. and NOT LIKE THE MOVIES the last track is a great song, it made me appreciate her writing, and the piano touch is a perfect ballad cap for a teenage dream and a fun summer end album. i would buy the album, not just because i liked most of the songs, but because the fucking album is scented like COTTON-FUCKIN-CANDY!!!!!!!!

THE EPIC TELEPHONE

Im actually quite excited for Lady GaGa's music video "Telephone" featuring stunning Beyonce. To be honest I was not always a big fan, and to this day would not say im a "Monster" but i do appreciate what i have grown to know about Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta. Stefani Germanotta was born on March 28, 1986, as the eldest child to Italian American parents Joseph and Cynthia Germanotta, in New York City. Playing piano by ear from the age of 4, she went on to write her first piano ballad at 13 and began performing at open mic nights by age 14. At age 11, the singer was set to join Juilliard School in Manhattan but instead attended Convent of the Sacred Heart, a private Roman Catholic school. She described herself in high school as "very dedicated, very studious, very disciplined" but also "a bit insecure"  "used to get made fun of for being either too provocative or too eccentric, so I started to tone it down. I didn’t fit in, and I felt like a freak."

it really wasn't until i had read a brief history of her that i began to respect her, and eventually swallow my Aries pride, and buy "The FAME" i popped it in, and began to listen to a fairly catchy album and some really good beats. and yes it is pop music, so what! knowing that she has skills in instruments and can write her own songs, gave me peace of mind to delve back into the Haus of GAGA time and time again.
