The Hunger/Racism Games

So "Hunger Games" flippin killed it over the weekend. Despite fawning reviews and record-breaking ticket sales, some fans of the blockbuster young adult trilogy by author Suzanne Collins were livid (wrongfully so) by the decision to cast an African-American actress as Rue, one of the supporting characters. who unless you blind is clearly described as having "dark brown skin" in the  first installment.

As Jezebel notes, many "Hunger Games" viewers resorted to sending racist tweets over the fact that Rue (played in the film by young actress Amandla Sternberg) was black.
"Why does Rue have to be black," wrote one ignorant fan, whose Twitter page no longer exists. "Not gonna lie, kinda ruined the movie."
"Awkward moment when Rue is some black girl and not the innocent blonde girl you picture," wrote another user, whose account has also been deleted.
Of course, the occasion of "The Hunger Games" arriving in theaters isn't the first time some fans were upset with the casting. Last year, after the character posters for "The Hunger Games" debuted -- showing both Sternberg as Rue and Lenny Kravitz as stylist Cinna -- reactions on the Internet were equally harsh. Now To Be fair lol which is far from racist, i did NOT see Cinna as Black, but i also didn't know what i thought Cinna Looked like, but to be soooooo surprised The Rue is Black just cracks me up, it only means these people are horrible readers!!!! pick up more books kids, lets learn ya how to read! maybe start off with Huck fin, or tom sawyer, so you can also learn about being a racist bastard.

anyways! "The Hunger Games" is out in theaters now. For more on the racist "Hunger Games" tweets, head over to Hunger Games Tweets, a Tumblr created to "expose the 'Hunger Games' fans on Twitter who dare to call themselves fans yet don't know a damn thing about the books."

DRAKE: TAKE CARE REVIEW

So Drake Has Done it again, this mother fuckin Canadian, has blown it out the water! Jay-Z and Kanye, better watch the throne, because i think Drake is stealing album of the year this time around. the tracks are fresh, the samples, are fun, and the lyrics are relatable.

The Album Opens with "OVER MY DEAD BODY" a little bragging rights song, perfectly constructed, with a beautiful melody, and ambient flow, i heart this track, the track bleeds into the next "SHOT FOR ME" which is my favorite, only because if i was famous, i would wanna haunt someone like Drake does in this track. rarely do i relate with rap artists, not that i don't understand, but its just they are living a life so alien to me i just nod my head and bounce to the beat, i ain't no baller! but Drake raps about shit that people and young adults have gone through. hits home. the next track is the Famous "HEADLINES" this already on the airwaves hit, has a sick ass beat, beginning to end, a fat flow, and not one guest artist. "CREW LOVE feat. THE WEEKEND" is up next and might i say DAAAAAAAAAAAMN! this is a sick composition. the vocals steal my heart and soul on this one. "they lovin the crew!" the second half of this song develops the best relaxing beat and switch. I'm in love. The Next track "TAKE CARE feat. RIHANNA" is one of those songs that slapped me in the face with realism, i have been through every second of this song, and recently too. i love love love this track. "I've loved and I've lost" "MARVIN'S ROOM" is the next track, and who doesn't relate to the feeling of hatred toward your ex's rebound, its painfully awkward, only because he captures a feeling that many of us have had at one point. its an essential song. I'm down, i love it, I'm fallin in love deeper listening to this album all over again. "BURIED ALIVE INTERLUDE" is a sick sick sick flow, if you wanna hear some great Drake Shit, this is it! i was stopped in my damn tracks! its off and weird, and eerie, and i just love it, my second fave track on this album. sad it so short!!!!! "UNDERGROUND KINGS" great beat great track, a instant great hit. "WE'LL BE FINE" i love this beat alot, Drakes shit is hawt! but i have never been a huge birdman fan, the flow about nicki and fame it catchy. birdman should say Nigga more lol. "MAKE ME PROUD" is probably the most Pop-like song on the album, the fourth song i ever heard, but oddly one of my least favorites now, its great but in comparison to the rest its def bottom three, Nicki can never do wrong, and the beat is sexy and simplistic. "LORD KNOWS feat. RICK ROSS" this one sounds like a "Watch The Throne" knock off lol i skipped it, bored to death. , "Look Like"CAMERAS/GOOD ONES GO INTERLUDE" this is a great song to me We're in LOVE, But Only On Camera" "DOIN IT WRONG" a great heartbreaking song, just raw and real, and again I Connect Wonder is epic, ugh this track breaks my heart :( wah! "THE REAL HER" is up next i dig this track, nothing amazing just a good listen. WEEZY good rap! you saved the track in my eyes. but wait! what? huh? ANDRE 3000? oh hell yes! his verse is BOMB.COM he has risen!!!!!! love it best guest spot on this album, hands down! "LOOK WHAT YOU'VE DONE" I love the lounge sound of this song, make the setting real, i wanna picture Drake sittin at a piano singing and people just drinking champagne. to me channeled ANDRE 3000 on this track, his flow is very sophisticated and poignant. "HYFR (HELL YA FUCKIN RIGHT) feat LIL WAYNE" I know this is gonna be a big favorite only because "Weezy" is on it, but i think there are way better singles on this album. but we shall see, i think this Drake album has a alot of gas to make this a long race. "PRACTICE" is a fuckin great sample, rarely do i feel like someone can improve an original view of a song........Drake has done it. he took Juvenile's track "Back That Ass Up" and made it faaaaantastic. "THE RIDE" follows and its old school hooks and classic. "THE MOTTO feat LIL WAYNE" eh. "I HATE SLEEPING ALONE" great ending to this future epic platinum album. DRAKE thank you! i enjoyed every bit of this masterpiece, NOV 15th 2011

my faves: SHOT FOR ME
BURIED ALIVE INTERLUDE
CREW LOVE
OVER MY DEAD BODY

CHRIS BROWN, SLOW UR DAMN ROLL

I'm no angel, nor do i think all celebrities NEED to be perfect, in fact, i am a believer that people are human, we make mistakes, we all do. i am the first to admit when I'm an asshole and i do something wrong. but man, Christopher Brown has taken the cake, so much cake in fact, he is starting to look like one of those chicks with a muffin top wearing a mid drift. he is just starting to look like an attention seeking spoiled brat. his PR is obviously now the only reason he apologizes for anything. you smack my girl Rihanna, you show pictures of ur dick (disappointing) and now ur gettin crazy on GOOD MORNING AMERICA? LMFAO fool, you done did it! and on the day ur album comes out? lol mother fucker you have lost a fan. you bore me, ur actions are so obviously a cry for attention, i now see you as a joke. ur status is low, ur covers been blown. but RIHANNA is bomb! get her album LOUD, in stores now ;)

FATE KILLS THE HILLS BUTCHER

Dr. Frank Ryan - the Crazy mother fuckin Beverly Hills plastic surgeon who Infamously performed 10 god dammed plastic surgery procedures on Heidi Montag in one day -- has died. and i have a theory that it was fate stepping in to say, "okay this has gone a little too far, this girl is lookin craaaaaazy!" so Fate went to PCH on Monday at 4:30pm and flipped this assholes jeep in attempts to stop the fiasco that is Heidi's face.

Ryan, who reportedly was 50, was trapped in the vehicle and suffered major head injuries, "The Ventura County Fire Department tried hoisting Ryan using a helicopter, but Fate was clutching this one a little too damn hard the attempt was called off and Ryan was pronounced dead at the scene.Minutes before the crash, he Twittered, "After 25 years of driving by, I finally hiked to the top of the giant sand dune on the PCH west of Malibu. Much harder than it looks! Whew!" awwwwww well at least he conquered a goal. The surgeon - who performed on celebs including Gene SimmonsShauna Sand and Vince Neil - came under fire this year for altering Montag's appearance so drastically. The Hills star, who is 23, underwent nose, cheekbone and chin jobs, as well as an eyebrow lift, breast enlargement and fat injections, among other procedures. I'm mean seriously!!! she was cute before! WTF happened? i don't understand! Spencer has got to take his toll on you. In March, she told Jay Leno she wanted bigger breasts, but "I legally can't right now. The limit is 800cc and I have 700cc." As for other surgeries, she said, "I think I've reached the point [where I can stop]. I think I'm good for awhile. I'm surger-ied out." and cracked out BITCH!
OH!
AND ON A NOTE OF SANITY
Montag filed for divorce from husband Spencer Pratt last month, citing "irreconcilable differences."

Onika Maraj (born 1984) better known by her stage name Nicki Minaj, is an American rapper and singer. In August 2009, Minaj signed to Young Money Entertainment with distribution from Universal Motown. Her debut album, Pink Friday( which i cannot waiiiiiiit for), is currently due to be released on November 23, 2010. She has also released three successful mixtapes. if you do not know her, or have heard her music, please listen to this woman, she is talented, and a fuckin hot mess. the "hello-good morning" music video has the best "Minaj-Clip" the crazy blue hair, and psycho-eyed stare, lol this video cracks me up. i do know that this bitch was born in Trinidad and Tobago and lived there for five years with her grandmother. At age 5, she moved to the Queens borough of New York City. She is of mixed Afro-Trinidadian and Indo-Trinidadian descent. According to Minaj, she grew up in a home with an abusive father who drank alot, and abused some pretty heavy drugs, and once tried to kill her mother by setting the house on fire. She has said that her life was kind fucked up and difficult growing up, but that "music helped her through it". She attended Elizabeth Blackwell Middle School and graduated from LaGuardia High School.  a school specializing in music and the visual and performing arts, Minaj participated in the drama program. She used to work at a Red Lobster restaurant in the Bronx, and now this woman is up and coming, and don't make those cheddar biscuits she eats em!

Nicki Minaj began her career in 2004 singing background vocals and hooks for underground rappers in New York City. She was discovered on MySpace by Dirty Money CEO Fendi, who signed her to the label in 2004. After appearing on "The Carter Edition" of Young Money's The Come Up DVD series, Minaj was contacted by Lil Wayne, who has a great single called :"The Knockout" that i love! which lead to her being dropped by Dirty Money. The two played ping-pong with her on a number of mixtape tracks. In April 2007, she released her first mixtape, Playtime Is Over, posing as a Barbie doll on the cover which that crazy ass bitch mariah carey used for her video with "Minaj" "Up Out My Face" The mixtape was well received. only cause i spread mad word hehe

Before Minaj released any solo material besides mixtapes, she was featured on 18 mother-fuckin album tracks and 11 god dammed remix's singles with high-profile acts including "Up Out My Face (Remix)" with Mariah Carey, "My Chick Bad" with Ludacris, "Lil' Freak" with Usher, she steals the show on Christina Aguilera's "Woohoo" and Sean Kingston's "Letting Go (Dutty Love)" is not the best song, but its fun because of Nicki. Then, in January 2010, another mixtape leaked virally, titled Barbie World. Minaj has not supported the mixtape and has stated that it should not be regarded as a true release. I have every damn single by minaj, and i love every damned track this girl puts out, its always the highlight of the track.
Minaj released her first single "Massive Attack" on April 13, My B-Day! woot woot! im not a huge fan of this track actually, The song features Sean Garrett, who produced the song along with Alex Da Kid. A music video for the single was filmed on March 16 in the desert near Lancaster, California with director Hype Williams (Aaliyah's Rock the Boat). The music video for the single premiered on BET's 106 & Park on March 31 with a cameo appearance by model Amber Rose. The single wasn't successful, however, as it only reached #22 on the US Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart and #65 on the  chart. The song is a buzz single, however, and Thank the lord Jesus Christ, will not be included on her debut album.
Minaj then released "Your Love" (one of my favorites so far) as the first official single from her debut album, after the leaked version started receiving heavy airplay on the radio because of its inclusion on her Barbie World mixtape. The single went on to become Minaj's most successful single so far, peaking at #14 on the Billboard Hot 100, #7 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, as well as topping the Rap Songs chart. Minaj has become the first female artist to top the chart unaccompanied since 2002. something quite noteworthy because woman rap artist are always assisted by a bigger or more successful artist A music video for the single was filmed by Lil X during the 4th of July weekend and was released on July 21, 2010 . The second single from the album, "Right Through Me", will be released near the album's release date. She appeared on the remix of the M.I.A. single "Teqkilla" in July 2010.
Minaj announced via Twitter (I follow her!!!!)  that her debut album, Pink Friday, will be released on November 23, 2010, stating "Yes. It's time. November 23rd".

SHHHHHUTTER ISLAND

Shutter Island Holla!

So i went to see Shutter Island Last night, and i must say, i was a little impressed, HA! i bet you thought i was gonna say it sucked! but no! i was a little lost through most of the flick because its so damn cryptic, and if you think you know the ending, you probably do. the best part is the way it unfolds. the plot which is In 1954, two U.S. marshals Teddy Daniels (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Chuck Aule (Mark Ruffalo) investigate the disappearance of a patient from a hospital for the criminally insane on an island in Massachusetts. They run into trouble when they are deceived by the hospital's chief administrator Dr. John Cawley (Ben Kingsley), a hurricane hits, they uncover a series of sinister human experiments, reminiscent of Nazi human experimentation. i know, i know sounds a little crazy, but honestly if you are a fan of the sixth sense or the shinning you might wanna give this a shot. i know i don't, or have not built much credibility in readers eyes to give you a blindly-follow-me recommendation, but i loved the movie, and loved its wit and time it took to tell the story.

The Acting
when it gets to the acting, it kinda had to ease its way into it for me, it was odd, it starts off with Leo, sea sick and nauseated from the ferry ride to Shutter Island. And to be honest it seemed a little disconnected, i felt like it was the first take, or the first scene they had shot together. Or maybe it was the music, i don't know what i'm trying to say is.........the acting felt stiff for the first few minutes of the flick, but in an odd way, i liked it, i kinda played into the film as a sort of strange uncomfortable  epilouge. Mark Ruffalo once again made me smile, he tends to have a subtle way and ease to his craft that fits in this film, i like his character right off the bat. the chemistry between the two seems to gel as the film goes on, and the movie does this for a reason, and i must say bravo. it was very effective. Ben Kingsley, looks like he has never aged since Ghandi, and introduces us to the rest of the island. the acting is brilliant, even Michelle Williams, who i hated in her "Dawson's Creek" days, gave a great performance as the FLASHBACK-WIFE from Boston. overall i loved the acting.

THE EPIC TELEPHONE

Im actually quite excited for Lady GaGa's music video "Telephone" featuring stunning Beyonce. To be honest I was not always a big fan, and to this day would not say im a "Monster" but i do appreciate what i have grown to know about Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta. Stefani Germanotta was born on March 28, 1986, as the eldest child to Italian American parents Joseph and Cynthia Germanotta, in New York City. Playing piano by ear from the age of 4, she went on to write her first piano ballad at 13 and began performing at open mic nights by age 14. At age 11, the singer was set to join Juilliard School in Manhattan but instead attended Convent of the Sacred Heart, a private Roman Catholic school. She described herself in high school as "very dedicated, very studious, very disciplined" but also "a bit insecure"  "used to get made fun of for being either too provocative or too eccentric, so I started to tone it down. I didn’t fit in, and I felt like a freak."

it really wasn't until i had read a brief history of her that i began to respect her, and eventually swallow my Aries pride, and buy "The FAME" i popped it in, and began to listen to a fairly catchy album and some really good beats. and yes it is pop music, so what! knowing that she has skills in instruments and can write her own songs, gave me peace of mind to delve back into the Haus of GAGA time and time again.
