AMANDA SEYFRIED: Big Mean Singing Machine

Amanda Seyfried
I first saw miss Seyfried in Tina Fey's adaptation of "Queen Bees & Wannabees" by Rosalind Wiseman.  It was fresh, new, and my generations "Heathers" and "Clueless" i can sit here for days and quote things like, "If you're from Africa why are you white?" but i loved the character Karen, the least showcased mean girl and probably the most subtly comedic. for some reason she just made me laugh the most genuinely. i honestly did not ever think i would see her again She then went on to other films including Nine Lives (2005) and Alpha Dog (2007). In 2008, after landing a lead role on a popular television series (Big Love in 2006) Seyfried appeared as Sophie Sheridan in the musical feature film Mamma Mia!. Other recent notable appearance include a supporting role in Jennifer's Body in 2009, and one of the two lead roles in Dear John the following year. She currently has three films in production.

I wanna talk about her voice box next, i wanna say, i had every true intention of seeing Batman: DARK KNIGHT only to find out that it was sold out, of course (major bummer) and so my friend and i decided, "what the hell, lets see mamma mia!" so we go in, we sit down, we start watching the flick, and the first vocals are Amanda as "Sophie Sheridan" and i was a little impressed, it was crisp and clean, not auto-tuned and iffy. and then! i'm on itunes and the song "Little House" from Dear John Comes on, now i have not seen the movie yet, i'm sure its "Amazing" lol and i'm sure its sad, but i'm gonna sit that one out til its on NETFLIX.  but man o man i love the song a lot! its very folky and reminds me a little of tracy chapman. so if you have not heard the song i suggest you hop on over to Itunes and give it a 35 second preview.

She has an upcoming movie Chloe coming out later 2010 and i must say it looks good, a challenging role that may show a bit more of the powerhouse that is amanda, i'm not a crazy fanatic, or trying to force my opinion, there is a "Thing" about her and  The Thing I like Most About her, is she seems like she would be a normal, kick-ass fun chick, not stuck up, not an elitist, not a power-tripping social queen montress, i love that she has balanced on fame so gracefully. i am a huge fan of the "Friedcat" yeah i just made that up, we tight like that.

SHHHHHUTTER ISLAND

Shutter Island Holla!

So i went to see Shutter Island Last night, and i must say, i was a little impressed, HA! i bet you thought i was gonna say it sucked! but no! i was a little lost through most of the flick because its so damn cryptic, and if you think you know the ending, you probably do. the best part is the way it unfolds. the plot which is In 1954, two U.S. marshals Teddy Daniels (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Chuck Aule (Mark Ruffalo) investigate the disappearance of a patient from a hospital for the criminally insane on an island in Massachusetts. They run into trouble when they are deceived by the hospital's chief administrator Dr. John Cawley (Ben Kingsley), a hurricane hits, they uncover a series of sinister human experiments, reminiscent of Nazi human experimentation. i know, i know sounds a little crazy, but honestly if you are a fan of the sixth sense or the shinning you might wanna give this a shot. i know i don't, or have not built much credibility in readers eyes to give you a blindly-follow-me recommendation, but i loved the movie, and loved its wit and time it took to tell the story.

The Acting
when it gets to the acting, it kinda had to ease its way into it for me, it was odd, it starts off with Leo, sea sick and nauseated from the ferry ride to Shutter Island. And to be honest it seemed a little disconnected, i felt like it was the first take, or the first scene they had shot together. Or maybe it was the music, i don't know what i'm trying to say is.........the acting felt stiff for the first few minutes of the flick, but in an odd way, i liked it, i kinda played into the film as a sort of strange uncomfortable  epilouge. Mark Ruffalo once again made me smile, he tends to have a subtle way and ease to his craft that fits in this film, i like his character right off the bat. the chemistry between the two seems to gel as the film goes on, and the movie does this for a reason, and i must say bravo. it was very effective. Ben Kingsley, looks like he has never aged since Ghandi, and introduces us to the rest of the island. the acting is brilliant, even Michelle Williams, who i hated in her "Dawson's Creek" days, gave a great performance as the FLASHBACK-WIFE from Boston. overall i loved the acting.

BECOME AN AIRBENDER

The Film has Finally been made, Avatar: The Last Airbender, now called "The Last Airbender" because some blue aliens dick's are too big to share the limelight. but all box office monopoly's aside, im suuuuuper stoked for this awesome adaptation from nickleodeon's powerhouse american anime. the cast  stars Noah Ringer as Aang, a reluctant hero who prefers adventure over his job as the Avatar.(When Aang was young, he unknowingly revealed that he was the Avatar when he chose four toys out of thousands, each of which were the childhood toys of the previous Avatars. In Tibetan Buddhism, there is a similar test for reincarnations of a Tulku Lama. In Magic and Mystery in TibetAlexandra David-Neel writes that "a number of objects such as rosaries, ritualistic implements, books, tea-cups, etc., are placed together, and the child must pick out those which belonged to the late tulku, thus showing that he recognizes the things which were theirs in their previous life." Each successor is expected to show signs of continuity with the previous Avatar, such as being born within a week of the death.) Aang, and his friends Katara and Sokka journey to the North Pole to find a Waterbending master to teach Aang and Katara the secrets of the craft. At the same time, Fire Lord Ozai, the current Fire Lord of the Fire Nation, is waging a seemingly endless war against the Earth Kingdom, the Water Tribes, and the already vanquished Air Nomads. The film also stars Nicola PeltzJackson Rathbone, and Dev Patel

Basically its gonna kick some ass, and im not even afraid that M. Nigh is gonna royally fuck this project up, i feel like he cares about the story, and feels that it need to be done right! major point gain-age for you mr Night. And other cleared rumors like "No Appa" or "no MoMo" its all false, the cute super side-kicks will also be in the film. if you wanna look-see visit www.thelastairbendermovie.com

THE EPIC TELEPHONE

Im actually quite excited for Lady GaGa's music video "Telephone" featuring stunning Beyonce. To be honest I was not always a big fan, and to this day would not say im a "Monster" but i do appreciate what i have grown to know about Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta. Stefani Germanotta was born on March 28, 1986, as the eldest child to Italian American parents Joseph and Cynthia Germanotta, in New York City. Playing piano by ear from the age of 4, she went on to write her first piano ballad at 13 and began performing at open mic nights by age 14. At age 11, the singer was set to join Juilliard School in Manhattan but instead attended Convent of the Sacred Heart, a private Roman Catholic school. She described herself in high school as "very dedicated, very studious, very disciplined" but also "a bit insecure"  "used to get made fun of for being either too provocative or too eccentric, so I started to tone it down. I didn’t fit in, and I felt like a freak."

it really wasn't until i had read a brief history of her that i began to respect her, and eventually swallow my Aries pride, and buy "The FAME" i popped it in, and began to listen to a fairly catchy album and some really good beats. and yes it is pop music, so what! knowing that she has skills in instruments and can write her own songs, gave me peace of mind to delve back into the Haus of GAGA time and time again.
