THE HELP IS AMAZING!

So Im excited to see that, the book i am currently reading (THE HELP) is being made into a film. the book is about set in Mississippi during the 1960s and follows one young southern girl’s dream of becoming a writer. Her name is Skeeter (played by Emma Stone) and subject matter, unfortunately, is controversial and involves interviewing the many black women who are employed by wealthy southern families as caretakers. During her interviews, Skeeter forms a friendship with one of the black women named Aibileen. Despite everything they risk in continuing their relationship, the two women forge ahead, bringing new stories into the fold as more women come forward to turn this small Mississippi town on its head. i am only about ten Chapters in, and i already love it, so I'm kinda nervous and excited to see how the film pans out. So if ya haven't checked it out yet, i say get to a damn library and check it out.

What I Think About Peter Parker/Garfield

So Lemme be the first to say, I LOVE Andrew Garfield, Im super duper stoked, that he is the next Peter Parker in the new SPIDER-MAN Reboot. i had never really seen anything he was in other than the Social Network, Last year. But i enjoyed every bit of his acting. he just seems a better fit, because lemme also be the first to say, i think Tobey Macguire is a super creep, he looks like a child molester with down syndrome, he just creeps me out thoroughly. so I'm happy to say, Tobey threw in his nasty crust-ass towel. oh and on the PLUS. Emma Stone is the new Gwen Stacie! woot woot! more on Emma later. cause that bitch is my second wife, after Mila Kunis.

here are some cute behind the scenes photos of Garfield and Stone On set.

THE OSCARS: MY PICKS

SO, ITS BEEN A WHILE, FINALLY BACK, AND IN THE SWING OF THINGS, BUT I'M PRETTY MUCH GONNA KEEP THIS SIMPLE. I WANNA SAY WHO I PICK TO WIN THE OSCARS THIS YEAR AND WHY. SO FIRST OFF, BEST ACTRESS SHOULD GO TO NATALIE-FUCKING PORTMAN. ONLY BECAUSE ITS THE FIRST ROLE BY HER WHERE I WAS ENTIRELY BLOWN AWAY. NOT TO MENTION IT BEAUTIFULLY DIRECTED.  BEST ACTOR IN A LEADING ROLE WILL GO TO MR. COLIN FIRTH, ONLY BECAUSE HIS STUTTER ASS-TA-TO-OUNDED ME. ACTOR IN A SUPPORTING ROLE, UM ABSOLUTELY CHRISTIAN BALE, HE WAS INSANELY PERFECT. HE PLAYED A CRACK-HEAD SO BELIEVABLE WHITNEY HOUSTON HIT HIM UP AFTER SHE SAW IT. ACTRESS IN A SUPPORTING, I WANNA SAY MELISSA LEO IN THE FIGHTER, BUT I KINDA WANNA GO FOR HAILEE STEINFELD IN TRUE GRIT, JUST CAUSE SHE IS THE UUUUUNDER DAWG! SO THOSE ARE MY QUICK PICKS, WE SHALL SEE FEB 27TH 2011.

BLACK SWAN

I had the pleasure of seeing Black Swan Last Saturday, and with all hype and expectations, i was prepared to like it, but i was hardly prepared to LOVE it, this is a movie that was masterfully designed and casted, but the star of the sky, is the talented, and beautiful, Natalie Portman. I have always thought i was a Natalie Portman fan, and have always appreciated her in her roles, be it, a digital short on SNL, or a queen of Naboo, in Star Wars, or a seedy, pink wig wearing stripper in CLOSER, but something always fell short for me, i never really believed and subscribed to her character, nor do i think she had, i feel like she never lost herself in the role, so when she as a stripper, says things like "Fuck" and other over sexual things, it felt like a child playing a twisted version of pretend, But Black swan eases you into a dark transformation of a character, it is a gradual change, that by the end, you are unaware that its the loving beautiful princess padme that you forced urself to love, i loved every frame, i loved every word. if its playing in a theater near you, you best hop in a plane, train, or automobile and watch this amazing adaptation of SWAN LAKE. its Natalie Portman's window to the OSCAR.
